This month’s professional learning spotlight will be led by Tiffany Walls who will incorporate WIDA Levels 1–3 into social studies for the middle school student. Participants will learn how social studies content areas already embed many scaffolds and supports that are responsive to multilingual learners. Inquiry, storytelling, using multimodal resources, and making connections to community are just a few examples of how social studies coincide with WIDA’s high‑leverage practices.
